| Cryopreservation
of seminal liquid is carried out in our Cantonal
Fertility Centre. The sperm bank service is offered
to:
- Persons that need to preserve a seminal liquid
deposit before medically-assisted procreation
treatments. In this case the deposit can’t
be stored for more than 5 years.
- Patients that must undergo surgical operations
on their genitalia, or radiant therapy or chemotherapy
that could permanently or temporarily compromise
their fertility. In these cases, the deposit
can be maintained indefinitely.
- Persons that for personal private reasons
or before undergoing vasectomy have the need
to preserve a deposit of their sperm. In these
cases, the deposit can be maintained for only
five-years.
- The sperm bank collects and preserves donor
sperm for use in assisted procreation treatments.
